Zijin High-level Forum and Material + International Conference held by our

university

    January 17th to 18th, “The 8th Zijin High-Level Forum” for overseas young scholars and “Material +” International Academic Conference was held in NJUST. 40 outstanding overseas young scholars of 36 world-renowned universities or institutions from 13 countries and regions participated in this forum.

    The opening ceremony of the forum was held at the Materials Science Research Center. Chen Qian, Vice President of NJUST, Kong Jie, Director of Personnel Department, Xu Ning, Vice Dean of Material Science School , attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided by Zeng Huaxiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Material Science School.

    Chen Qian extended a welcome speech on behalf of the university. He pointed out that it was the best time for overseas young scholars returning to China to make further development. He said that the university provided a fertile soil and environment for the growth of young scholars. He sent a sincere invitation to attendees, and hoped that young scholars could someday have the opportunity to work in NJUST.


    Kong Jie introduced the general profile of faculties and the employment policy for overseas young scholars. Kong Jie said that the school actively recruited young scholars both at home and abroad in recent years, and had formed complete system for employment and follow-up training.

    Zeng Haibo made a keynote speech on Embracing a New Era, Choosing a New Platform, Opening a new dimension.He introduced the basic situation of the School of Material Science and researches in its institutions. He also shared personal growth experience in NJUST.


    After the opening ceremony, the scholars participated in the sub-forum in groups. There were three sub-forums, which were respectively presided by Professor Chen Guang, Professor Zhang Yong and Professor Zeng Haibo. Young scholars conducted academic exchanges and discussions on varied research fields. Through the forums, deepened understanding was established and possible way of further collaboration agreed.

    On the morning of March 18th, the School of Materials Science held a meeting, on which overseas scholars exchanged ideas with NJUST staff on what they were concerned in terms of working in our university.
