Zhou Tian Wins 2013 Klaus Toepfer Environmental Scholarship

  

 

 

 

The winner name list of 2013 Klaus Toepfer Environmental Scholarship had been released recently, where our school student Zhou Tian was in.

 

 

This year’s winners were selected from a group of about 100 nominees in 30 universities nationwide. After the examination and assessment of expert panel, 10 undergraduate students were named winners, they were as follows:

The award ceremony will be held at 2013 International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability on June 5th, 2013.

    

Klaus Toepfer environmental scholarship was founded at November, 2007, by chef professor Klaus Toepfer of UNEP-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development, the former executive director, the deputy secretary-general of the United Nations and the United Nations Environment Program. In order to promote Chinese Environmental education, Professor Klaus Toepfer donated 1 million to set up the Klaus Toepfer Scholarship, which was the first national environmental undergraduate scholarship. This scholarship annually provides 10 students with 10,000 each to encourage them to do contribution to the increasingly serious environmental problems. From 2009-2012, there have been 40 excellent students received the award.
