Professor Michael Levitt, Nobel Laureate of Chemistry visited NJUST

On April 16th, Prof. Michael Levitt, the Noble Laureate of chemistry, Professor of Structural Biology, Stanford University, together with Prof. Julius Rebek, Director of the Scripps Research Institute of Chemical Biology, came to visit NJUST upon the invitation of Institute of Medical and Institutional Innovation of NJUST.


Xi Zhanwen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, met with Prof. Michael Levitt and the delegation. Professors from relevant departments and disciplines of NJUST attended the exchange meeting.


Xi Zhanwen extended his warm welcome to Prof. Michael Levitt and looked forward to the establishment of cooperation through exchanges. Prof. Sun Dongping introduced the research status of the School of Chemical Engineering. Prof. Liu Xuefeng and Prof. Niu Tianchao also introduced their research fields.


Prof. Michael Levitt pointed out that scientific research requires great enthusiasm and efforts. He encouraged professors to explore and conduct in-depth research in their own fields. Success is always left to those who are prepared.


Prof. Julius Rebek gave a brief introduction to the Scripps Research Institute of Chemical Biology, saying that both sides can carry out scientific research cooperation and joint training of doctoral students in the field of chemical engineering.
