Commencement Ceremony held at Sino-French Engineering School

On the afternoon of September 26, Sino-French Engineer School (SFES) held the commencement ceremony for freshmen.

Vice President and Dean of SFES Liao Wenhe, Acting Vice Director Yang Sen, Vice Director Alain Carmasol, Ma Wu and Wang Haoping, President of Alliance Française de Nanjing Guillaume Routier were presented. Prof. Yangsen presided over the ceremony.

Prof. Alain Carmasol made a cordial opening speech and highlighted that SFES is the outcome of the innovative cooperation between NJUST and ENIM. It is featured with a special talent training model which values mathematic basis as well as industrial internships and focuses on joint training with the industry. This is the core characteristic and spotlight of SFES.

Mr. Guillaume Routier pointed out the significance of French language learning as well as French culture. He encouraged the freshmen to learn and use French language as the first step for their future study and even further study in France.

Representatives of students and faculty members expressed their heart-felt welcome and blessings for the freshmen and shared their own campus life and study experience.

VP Liao conclude that NJUST is one of the “Double First-Class” initiative universities with strong engineering basis. SFES is a demonstration of NJUST’s reform of engineering education. Cultivating excellent engineers via introducing French engineering education may shed light on the reform of Chinese engineering education system.
