The 14th Symposium on Cross-Strait Bibliography held in NJUST

From July 6th to 8th, the 14th Symposium on Cross-Strait Bibliography was held in the Science and Technology Hall in NJUST. With the theme of “The Innovation and Transformation of Bibliography Driven by Data Science”, more than 160 well-known experts and scholars from over 40 universities and research institutes across the Taiwan Straits attended the conference.

 


In the conference, Professor Ma Feicheng introduced the related work about “Knowledge Management and Service for Intelligence Health”. Zeng Yuanxian, professor of Taiwan Normal University, made a report University Information: Concepts, Cases, Experiences.Wu Jianzhong, Director of Library of Macau University, demonstrated “The Significance of the Promulgation of the Public Library Law under the High-Quality Development Background”. With the topic of Information Science Education in Library Science under the Digital Learning Trend, Professor Wang Meiling of the Political University pointed out the importance of distance education, digital learning, and online courses in today's library science education.

 


From the afternoon of the 7th to the morning of the 8th, the 12 sub-forums of the seminar were held one after another. Teachers and students from universities and institutions across the Taiwan Strait discussed hot research issues in the fields such as, user information behavior, scientific measurement and scientific evaluation, health informatics, data science, and so on. They shared ideas in details on pioneering studies on library information from the aspects of development status, related technologies, and specific applications.

 


On the “Dean’s Forum” , department deans of Library and Information Science from Nanjing University, Wuhan University, Political University, and Fu Jen Catholic University gathered at the Room 310 in School of Economics and Management on July 7th. They lively discussed topics including discipline development, students cultivation and transformation of library. They also shared their respective school-running experience and discussed problems they had encountered in student enrollment and difficulties in job-seeking for students.
