Academician Rui Xiaoting Attended the 14th MSNDC

From August 26 to 29, Prof. Rui Xiaoting, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led 22 researchers to attend the 14th MSNDC, which was held by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in Quebec, Canada.


Rui was invited to preside over a session themed “Transfer Matrix Method for Multibody Systems and Its Applications”, with the purpose to discuss Rui Method.  Proposed in 1993, Rui Method aimed to fill the gap of fast computation theory for multibody dynamics in dynamic performance design of complex mechanical system. Rui Method has been highly cited and applied in more than 50 engineering areas for its high computation efficiency.


Six reports were presented in the session, i.e. Actual Developments in MSTMM, Applications to Machine Tool Dynamics, Applications to Launch Systems, Discrete Time Methods, Applications to Linear Systems and Miscellaneous Applications, and demonstrated the latest development of Rui Method. Experts and scholars from the whole world had an in-depth discussion on the method and its applications.


Rui’s paper Developments in Transfer Matrix Method for Multibody Systems (Rui Method) and Its Applications was awarded the best paper of the 14th MSNDC.
