2018 Sino-Korea ferroelectric materials&applications seminar held in our university

October 24th, 2018

From October 19th to 22nd, the 2018 Sino-Korea ferroelectric materials seminar was held at the Conference Center of our university. Hosted by the School of Material Science, NJUST, the seminar centered around two major themes: ferroelectric ceramics and applications, new iron materials and physical effects. Experts at home and abroad attended the meeting, including 125 well-known scholars from universities and research institutes such as Tsinghua University, Peking University and Chinese Academy of Sciences and 12 overseas scholars from South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Professor Yuan Guoliang presided over the opening ceremony. Zeng Huaxiang, deputy secretary of CPC, the School of Materials Science, gave a welcome speech and introduced the School development and the discipline construction. Professor Wang Yaojin introduced the organization and schedules of the Seminar.

Participants conducted extensive and in-depth explorations on ferroelectric ceramics and applicationsnew ferroelectric materials and physical effects. In addition, scientific research accomplishments with international cutting-edge levels are demonstrated, involving the latest publications in Science, Nature and Nature Materials, etc.. Altogether 60 invited lectures and 33 poster presentations were  given by domestic experts, such as Professor Liu Junming from Nanjing University, Luo Haosu, a researcher at the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Dong Shuxiang from Peking University, and Professor Wook Jo from the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, etc.

Research accomplishments of outstanding postgraduates and doctoral students from national universities and research institutes were presented. Among 33 research posters, 6 won the reward of Excellent Research Poster.

This seminar successfully strengthens the research exchanges and collaboration between China and South Korea in the field of ferroelectric materials and devices, and will promote the development of materials subject of our university.
